One of my favorite gadgets of all time is my Weed Popper.
It’s an organic gardener’s dream weeding machine. You won’t need batteries, gasoline, or a cord. Just a little muscle. In fact, you won’t need much muscle at all.
Why do I love my Weed Popper so much? Let me count the ways:
1. You can get rid of weeds in your yard or garden without harsh chemicals. Actually, without any chemicals at all!
2. You won’t wake up the next morning unable to move from bending over pulling weeds. That’s because you never have to bend down!
3. No need for dirt under your nails. You won’t touch the weed.
4. I find it to be very stress relieving. From the twisting to the ejecting- I love it!
5. It pops the weed, root and all. So they won’t grow back unless another weed seeds itself and settles in (but let me explain how to prevent that below).
First, here’s how to pop: Push down directly onto the weed you want popped. Press until the spikes have sunken in around the weed. Gently twist, and twist, and twist again. Now pull straight up. Hold the weed over a bin and pop down on the eject button. Done!
Total weed popping time: just seconds!

Bonus tip: To prevent more weeds from growing in this same spot later in the season, I immediately fill the empty hole with grass seed. You might need to fill a little top soil in the open space because the bigger the weed you pop, the bigger the hole it leaves behind.

TSA adding some additional lanes for Families and for the Military
I know that everyone’s favorite part of a vacation is the long lines through TSA with different orders being barked at you: “Leave your shoes on!” “No, take them off!” “Put your liquids in here!” “That liquid doesn’t count as a liquid but that solid is a liquid!” What?!?! Now add in a bunch of […]

People will really buy anything.
Did you ever watch one of the million documentaries about Fyre Fest? If you haven’t, brace yourself. And pick any one of them… they’re everywhere: Hulu, Netflix, etc. Even after the creator of Fyre Fest spent time in jail for fraud, they tried to have another Fyre Fest. It got postponed indefinitely. Then they listed […]

In The Kitchen with Laura McKenna: The Best Breakfast Sandwich Ever
This IN THE KITCHEN tip actually takes place: IN THE GAS STATION. I’ve had a lot of breakfast sandwiches in my day- from restaurants, grab-and-go convenience stores, and lots of them simply made at home. Hands down, this one is THE BEST. I’m naming it “The McKenna”. Kwik Trip doesn’t know it yet so if […]

Movie Monday: A double feature movie review (and one to grow on)!
I’ve been having a lot of time on my hands with this dumb knee of mine. So while the ice packs have been doing their work, I’ve watched a few series, read a few books, and watched quite a few movies over the last couple of weeks. Here’s what I watched over the 4th of […]
