Love is in the air and I’m here to make your Valentine’s Day just a little sweeter!
Let’s make a Heart Shaped Cake for your honey. What’s that? You don’t have a special pan that bakes heart shaped cakes? No worries! You don’t need one.
I have an easy way to make a Heart Shaped Cake without having to buy a Heart Shaped Pan.
Most of us have a round cake pan (mine is an 9″) and a square brownie or cake pan (mine is an 8×8″). That’s all you need.

Whether you are using a boxed cake mix or your favorite recipe, split the batter evenly between the two pans and bake according to the directions.
Then let the heart-shaped magic happen when you take the cakes out of the oven. Flip the cakes out of their respective pans. Position the square cake more like a diamond. Then cut the round cake in half and place each piece on the top of your diamond to form a heart.

Frost that baby and no one will know you didn’t bake a heart shaped cake from the start!
Cake pans slightly different in size? Don’t stress. Just use more icing to patch in and even things up. Who doesn’t like a little extra, anyway?
Bonus Tip: If you’re worried about your square and half-circles separating while you cut the cake, just spread a little frosting in between your cake parts to act as a “glue” to hold them together.
Enjoy and have a Happy Valentine’s Day!

I’m going to start out by saying that I love Channing Tatum, so I’m completely biased. COMPLETELY. That being said, aside from my admiration, he is a really good actor. And don’t scoff at that…. he is! He has range. He can ham it up in slapstick comedy movies like 21 Jump Street (2012), dance […]
