Trimming Trees!

Last year, I treated myself to another (manly) tool to add to my arsenal. I always wanted to have my own chainsaw, but figured that I probably wouldn’t get a lot of use out of it. So, last year, I bought myself a new electric pole saw. Which is basically a small chainsaw at the end of a very long pole. That allows me to trim branches up to approximately 15 feet in the air. This thing is addicting! In fact, it is easy to get carried away and start trimming branches that don’t need to be trimmed. As part of my fall lawn work, I decided the other day to trim some branches. It’s amazing how much difference it makes in the overall appearance of your yard. We had so many large branches that were hanging low and making it difficult to mow the grass around them. Now that they are all trimmed up, it not only looks great, but is also a functional change as I no longer have to do the limbo to walk through the yard. I mentioned on the air the other day that I am no arborist, more like just a tree trimmer. But I’ll take it!

For most of us, the two weeks of the games are like a vacation. A break from the same-old routine, a break from our typical television viewing habits, and most […]
