Oddly enough, I assumed that everyone knew the answer to this. Especially my wife. She is one of the smartest people I know. Not only does she have incredible street smarts, but she also has two Master’s degrees. Recently, we were together with some friends. The topic of prunes was brought up. I mentioned how I do not like prunes, and my wife along with two of our friends all mentioned how they think prunes are really good. Then, I said that I love plums, but just can’t get into prunes. All three of them (seemingly at the same time) started to chuckle. One friend said that a plum is a completely different fruit than a prune. I paused for a second to make sure that I wasn’t losing my mind. I have known my entire life that a prune is actually a dried plum. Didn’t everyone know that? As I briefly questioned whether or not I was wrong, thinking, “How in the world is it possible for three people out of four to be wrong?” I came to the realization that I had them! I was right, and all three of them were wrong! So I turned with a smug look on my face, and I said, “Why don’t you guys do a little Googling and find out that you are wrong.” So they did. They were absolutely amazed to discover that a prune was actually a plum. Of course, my wife then mentioned she already knew that it was a plum, she had just forgotten. She also pointed out that I was right for once. At least she admitted that!

Those Post-Olympic Blues Are Real
The last two weeks were so incredible. I had the pleasure of covering the games with twice-daily Olympic updates on our Civic Media radio stations. For most of us, the two weeks of the games are like a vacation. A break from the same-old routine, a break from our typical television viewing habits, and most […]
