Or so I thought! I have been driving for over 32 years. In that time, I have shown that I’m a pretty good driver. Being a pretty good driver probably means that you know the rules and regulations of the road, right? Well, not so fast. What you think and what you actually know are two totally different things. At least when it comes to the driver’s exams.
My daughter just turned 15 years old. Later this week she is going to be taking her driver’s permit test. She said she’s nervous about it and I really didn’t understand why. I told her it is going to be a cakewalk. I told her that she’s going to pass very easily because she’s very smart. I told her that I was going to identify some online resources so she could do some practice testing before the actual test itself. What a great way to prepare her for it. So I decided to take the practice test myself, and I failed miserably! Not only once, or twice, but five different times. I swear they added new things to this test that they didn’t have when I was 15 years old. I think I have some studying to do!
I encourage all parents of teenagers to take a look at some of the online permit tests that are available and see how you do! Perhaps you will do better than me. Because you can’t do much worse! 😂

New Parental Fear Unlocked
As parents, we want what is best for our kids. We want to protect them from all harm. But we also don’t want to shelter them from wonderful life experiences. My wife and I pretty much allowed our kids to do mostly what they want, as long as they weren’t getting into trouble and as […]

Those Post-Olympic Blues Are Real
The last two weeks were so incredible. I had the pleasure of covering the games with twice-daily Olympic updates on our Civic Media radio stations. For most of us, the two weeks of the games are like a vacation. A break from the same-old routine, a break from our typical television viewing habits, and most […]
