What Would You Do?

OK, here’s the scenario. Last weekend, some friends and I were out to eat. I ordered a cheeseburger that looked amazing on the menu, and when it showed up, it looked equally amazing! My first bite seemed a little bit off, as I felt something tugging on my lower lip, I could instantly tell that what I felt was a hair. It was a long, bright, red hair, not naturally red either, this was red-red, and from a box. Not that it matters because any hair is equally disgusting. The waitress came over to ask if we were enjoying our food. I asked her if the cook has long red hair by chance. She laughed and said, “Yes, she’s not even supposed to be cooking today!” I think she automatically assumed that I knew who the cook was. The truth is, I did not know the cook, but I knew that she had long red hair….and I was hoping that she had showered that day because her hair was in my mouth. I showed the waitress the hair, and she apologized and said, “I’ll check back in later.” About 10 minutes later, she came back to the table and asked if there’s anything else we would like, as she dropped the check on the table. No discount, no coupon, no free dessert, no offer to bring me a different burger, just an apology. I guess it was good that I got the apology. I didn’t make a big deal about it. What would you have done?

New Parental Fear Unlocked
As parents, we want what is best for our kids. We want to protect them from all harm. But we also don’t want to shelter them from wonderful life experiences. My wife and I pretty much allowed our kids to do mostly what they want, as long as they weren’t getting into trouble and as […]

For most of us, the two weeks of the games are like a vacation. A break from the same-old routine, a break from our typical television viewing habits, and most […]
